Water Quality & Supply
Pressure-Reducing Valves (PRV)
Plumbing issues you are facing:
- Water pressure seems too high and causes fixtures to spray
- Toilets refill loudly or valves slam shut
- Appliance hoses or supply lines leaking at connections
- Water hammer (banging pipes) when fixtures close
- Fixture cartridges and washers wearing out quickly
- Pressure over 80 PSI (check with gauge at hose bib)
- City increased water pressure in your area
- No PRV installed but building code requires one
What D&H PLUMBERS fixes:
- Test incoming water pressure at multiple points
- Install new PRV on main water line if none exists
- Recalibrate existing PRV to optimal pressure (typically 50-60 PSI)
- Replace worn or failed PRV units
- Add pressure gauge for monitoring
- Verify consistent pressure throughout home after adjustment
- Install expansion tank if creating closed system with PRV
- Test all fixtures for proper operation at regulated pressure
